Happy New Year! How’s everyone doing? Enjoying your 2018 so far? Or are you, like many, struggling with resolutions that you’ve made – to do something or not do something specific?
I’ve struggled with resolutions for many years, but this year I decided to do something different – press the reset button.
It’s different from a resolution, because this isn’t about will power or even making good or bad decisions. It’s about my health and wellbeing, how I get through each day, and how I approach life.
How so you ask?
First of all, yes, there is a diet and exercise component to my reset. But instead of “dieting” I’m looking at what my body needs to be healthy, active, and beautiful. I know that the food I eat and how active I am has everything to do with how I feel each day and how I’m able to perform at work and with my family. That’s why in January I’m specifically focusing on diet and exercise with a detox and a new running and strength training program. So far, it’s working (yay!)
Second, there are a lot of changes getting ready to happen in my life. My daughters will be heading to college this year, so our lives will all change quite a bit. We also have a new puppy in the house, which is both a joy and a challenge on a daily basis. And since I’ll have more free time soon, I’m exploring new hobbies to try.
Good news – one of my hobbies is to continue writing and sharing with you on Not So Picky Eaters. But be warned – you might see more than just food here. There’s likely to be posts about family life, exercise, dogs, teenagers, sports, crafting, home décor, gardening, or even home improvement. Regardless, I’ll try to make it entertaining!
What are you doing differently for 2018? What changes are coming your way this year? Share!
