Here’s a handy-dandy list of gifts for you to pick up for you favorite home chef. I guarantee that any of these would be welcome in the kitchen of a food lover. And if not, feel free to ship it over to me!
Cookbooks! I am addicted to two things, and cookbooks is one of them. There are a couple out this year that are must-haves especially for the North Carolina cook. But these would be good for anyone, anywhere!
Poole’s: Recipes and Stories from a Modern Diner – By Ashley Christensen
Deep Run Roots: Stories and Recipes from My Corner of the South – By Vivian Howard
Both of these books are available at Quail Ridge Books in North Hills where they have signed copies, or just click on the links and get Amazon to deliver to your house!
Sur La Table Cooking Classes – Our local store is NICE and they have a fantastic kitchen inside it where they teach classes on how to cook just about anything you can think of. These make great gifts! Check out the schedule and book a class here. Pro tip: stop over at the Total Wine and pick up a bottle of something that will go with the meal you’ll be cooking. They’ll serve it to you during the class!
Linens/Napkins – Every home cook always needs new linens for the kitchen. Head over to The High Fiber and pick up some hand-printed towels and napkins. They’re available in hundreds of colors and prints. Also available at Gather in Cary.
Egg Poacher – Few things are as yummy as just about anything with a poached egg on it. Seems luxurious, I know, but make it easy on yourself with your own egg poacher.
Tea/Water Infuser Pitcher – I had one of these for several years until my hubby busted it the other day. Need a new one (Hint)
Very Cute Honey Pot – Yes, this is Le Creuset but isn’t it adorable? Must have.
Food Science Book – Some of us are geeks in the kitchen and this book – The Food Lab: Better Home Cooking Through Science – is a perfect fit for that!
Stuff to make cooking easier – There are a wide range of things you can use in the kitchen to make your life easier. Here are some:
